Description
This database was developed as part of a scientific research project conducted in the Gibiel Nature Reserve within the Niepołomice Forest near Kraków, Poland. Its purpose was to characterize the understory vegetation occurring on permanent research plots. The field survey was carried out during the 2025 growing season.
Data Records
The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 407 records.
This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.

Sampling Methods
On each permanent research plot (marked in the field), an inventory of understory vegetation was conducted within a 200 m² sampling area.

Method step description:
- Plant occurrence data were collected in the field using the VegApp mobile application (Schmidtlein, S. and Chitin Software, 2024: VegApp, v.3, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=edu.kit.ifgg.vegapp, doi:10.6084/m9.figshare.27771642.v1). Data management was carried out using TURBOVEG, and the dataset was subsequently processed in the R programming environment and formatted according to GBIF standards.
