Description

This dataset presents morphometric measurements of seeds from seven Rheum L. (Polygonaceae) species collected across Kazakhstan. Seed dimensions, mass, and morphological characteristics were analyzed to identify taxonomically informative traits and assess variation across ecological and geographical contexts. The data support species identification, provide insights into intraspecific variability, and can inform taxonomic and conservation studies of Rheum species in Central Asia. These data are derived from the published study: Sumbembayev et al., 2023, Biodiversitas Journal of Biological Diversity, 24(9), 4677–4692.

Sampling Methods

Seeds collected from natural populations in steppe, mountain, and semi-arid habitats; measured for dimensions, mass, and morphology.

Quality Control Measurements repeated for accuracy; only fully matured, undamaged seeds included.

Method step description:
