Descrição

This dataset contains phytosociological relevés of wet meadow communities belonging to the Juncetum subnodulosii association, collected in northern Poland. The data originate from field surveys conducted between 1973 and 1983 and represent historical vegetation records from fen and wet meadow habitats.

The dataset consists of seven phytosociological relevés, each documenting the complete species composition of vascular plants recorded within homogeneous vegetation plots. Species abundance was estimated using the Braun–Blanquet cover-abundance scale.

The dataset is published in a standardized format compatible with GBIF and includes both relevé-level data (sampling-event information) and species occurrence records derived from phytosociological tables.

This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.

Cobertura Geográfica

The dataset covers selected localities in northern Poland, including coastal and lowland regions of the southern Baltic area. Relevés were recorded in the following regions and localities: - Wolin Island (former Szczecin Voivodeship), including Wicko (Zalesie Forest District) and Kłoczewo; - Wejherowo area (Nanice); - Puck County, southwest of Sulicice, along the Czarna Woda river canal; - Vicinity of Lake Orle (former Gdańsk Voivodeship); - Mierzyno and surrounding areas; - Kashubian Coast (Pobrzeże Kaszubskie), between Perlinek and Mierzyno, along the left bank of the Bychowska Struga stream; All records originate from wet meadow and fen habitats.

Métodos de Amostragem

Vegetation data were collected using the classical phytosociological relevé method following the Braun–Blanquet approach. Relevés were recorded in open wet meadow vegetation of the Juncetum subnodulosii association. The vegetation structure was characterized by the absence of a tree layer and a very weakly developed shrub layer (shrub cover up to 5%). The herb layer was dominant, with cover values ranging from 80% to 100%. A well-developed moss layer was present, with cover ranging from 15% to 100%. Lichens were not recorded. For each relevé, a complete list of vascular plants and bryophytes was compiled, and species abundance was estimated using the Braun–Blanquet cover-abundance scale. Each relevé represents a single sampling event."

Área de Estudo The study covers selected wet meadow and fen habitats of northern Poland, representing the Juncetum subnodulosii association. The data originate from historical phytosociological surveys conducted between 1973 and 1983. A total of seven phytosociological relevés were recorded at multiple localities in coastal and lowland regions of northern Poland. Each relevé represents a homogeneous vegetation patch of wet meadow vegetation.
Controle de Qualidade The dataset was digitized from original phytosociological tables. Taxon names were reviewed and standardized to ensure internal consistency and compatibility with contemporary taxonomic references. Locality information was preserved in its original verbatim form due to the historical character of the data and the lack of precise geographic coordinates.

Descrição dos passos do método:

  1. Original phytosociological relevés were available only in paper form. All data were manually transcribed, standardized, and structured into a digital database. The dataset was organized into a relevé (event) table and a species occurrence table. Braun–Blanquet cover-abundance values were preserved as categorical data. The dataset was formatted as a sampling-event dataset and prepared for publication using the GBIF Integrated Publishing Toolkit (IPT).
