Description

This dataset contains records of mosquitoes collected as part of the One Health Surveillance (OH4S) project in Poland. The project aims to establish a nationwide mosquito monitoring system to enable the early detection of cross-border pathogens transmitted by mosquitoes. Mosquitoes are trapped near ports, international airports, and other potential points of entry where such pathogens could be introduced into the country.

Data Records

The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 77 records.

This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.

Versions

The table below shows only published versions of the resource that are publicly accessible.

Sampling Methods

Light traps with CO2 were used to collect mosquito in 5 locations in Poland, near harbours, international airport and other possible points of entry.

Study Extent During 2024, mosquitos were sampled on the weekly basis, from July to October

Method step description:

  1. 1. Researchers from NVRI defined the appropriate sampling protocol for the target vector. 2. Fieldwork was planned and coordinated by NVRI 3. Collected mosquitoes were identified by species, pooled and tested for the presence of RVFV genetic material 4. The collected data was entered into EFSA database
