Description
A list of specimens and observations recorded during Field Mycology course on 20-27 September 2025 organized by 4EU+ Alliance in Białowieża (Poland). Participants took trips to various forest sites in the Białowieża Forest, collected various fungi and fungi-like organisms, and identified them during laboratory classes. Some specimens were dried, preserved, and deposited in the Herbarium of Warsaw University (WA), Warsaw, Poland. Others were only recorded as observations in the field. The list includes non-lichenized fungi, with a few phytopathogenic ones, as well as ascomycetes, basidiomycetes, zygomycetes, and slime moulds. For selected specimens ITS barcode was sequenced.

Sampling was done in the Białowieża Forest, in the eastern part of Poland. During the field excursions, we visited four sites Czerlonka (forest districts 520, 544), Zwierzyniec (forest districts 419, 444), Budy (forest districts 363, 364, 392, 393), and Pogorzelce (forest districts 338, 339). We also visited Strict Reserve in the Białowieża National Park, but no specimens were collected; only some observations were made. Some specimens were also collected around the Geobotanical Station of the University of Warsaw, where the participants of the course were accommodated.

| Financement | Sequencing of target specimens was funded by Biodiversa+, the European Biodiversity Partnership, in the context of the “FunDive: Monitoring and mapping fungal diversity for nature conservation“ project under the 2022–2023 BioDivMon joint call. It was co-funded by the European Commission (grant agreement No. 2128-00020A - Biodiversa2022-640) and the National Science Centre, Poland (grant 2023/05/Y/NZ9/00106). |
Méthodes d'échantillonnage
Group of paritcipants were walking throu the field collecting speciens, the samplin was done in We assigned individual herbarium id number to each specimen collected. All specimens were photographed in the field. The metadata (date, location, substrate, habitat) were collected using PlutoF Go application. Specimens were collected to the basket, wrapped in the alluminium foil or collected to the plastic box with multiple compartments, slimemould were collected to paper match boxes.
| Etendue de l'étude | The sampling component of the field course consisted of excursions to four sites, each of which was visited three times by different groups. Each group included both participants and mycology experts. During the excursions, specimens and observations were collected using the PlutoF Go mobile application. Preliminary identifications were made in the field, while more detailed morphological examinations were later carried out in the laboratory. Whenever possible, taxonomic assignments were refined. Participants worked on eight taxonomic projects: Cortinarius sensu lato, Inocybe, Mycena, Fomitopsis (sensu this reference), Phellinus sensu lato, Psathyrellaceae, Hymenoscyphus and related discomycetes, Diatrype and related taxa. Accordingly, sampling efforts were especially concentrated on these groups. |
